THE CONFESSION TAKERS a/k/a CONFESSION MAKERS; THE FORGOTTEN & THE FORSAKEN

PART I: A MISDEMEANOR HOMICIDE

A man with an afro is wearing a leather jacket and a mug shot.

In 1975 the Suffolk County Police Department Beat this Innocent 17 Year Old into Confessing to a Murder that he did not Commit. As a Result the Rapist/Killer of a Teenage African American Girl Continued His Rampage While the 17 Year-Old Went to Prison for 33 Years. One of the Suffolk County Detectives that Beat the 17 Year Old Referred to the Murder of the African American Girl as a “Misdemeanor Homicide”

Murder in the first degree is an A-1 Felony – the most serious crime that one can be charged with in the State of New York.

I believe I can see the future

'Cause I repeat the same routine

I think I used to have a purpose

Then again, that might have been a dream

Internet sleuths … I will let you in on a little secret. The Long Island Serial Killer. Rex Heuermann is his name. He is not the only Long Island Serial Killer. Not even close.

Rex is not even the only recently active Long Island Serial Killer.

He’s probably not the worst either. Can you imagine that. A corpulent Ogre that converted his basement into a torture chamber where he hung girls from the ceiling while he tortured them … while he mutilated their genitalia … where he likely dismembered them alive … and then washed out all of their body cavities so his vile semen could not be found. He washed out their cavities when he used his nauseating penis instead of the inanimate objects he adored jamming into women’s orifices. This man that wrote his own Sex Torture with Ultimate Depravity: How To Manual is not even the worst serial killer on Long Island.

So not to worry my budding social media Serial Killer Profilers. You still have a purpose. There are still plenty of Long Island Serial Killers for us to catch. Which one? … You can do anything you want. You can’t do everything you want is the lesson I learned early enough to save my life. But I never applied it. So I didn’t save my life. And now I’m almost dead.

Hooah …

There are over a hundred victims of the Long Island Serial Killers.

“How is that possible,” you might ask.

Because the cops on Long Island (1) cover the killings up … (2) because they can’t solve them … (3) and they may be part of it.

Months after I wrote the above, award winning investigative journalist Sandra Peddie did a story about it in Newsday – the local big paper. It is aptly entitled “The Forgotten.” The upshot: one hundred and five (105) bodies of women have been found strewn about Long Island since 1976. They were found outdoors. (I have no idea how many were found indoors) A whole bunch of dead men – gay and transexual genetic men – have had their bodies found outdoors too. Not covered in the Newsday story which is masterful in its investigation and writing.

What is the “found outdoors” all about? Well my blossoming Mind Hunters “found outdoors” is an important metric according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation who keeps stats on such things. You see if a body is found outdoors it means it was probably dumped. Which means someone dumped it. Which also means that someone transported the body … are you still with me? … that means it’s probably a serial killer. Because that is what they do … is it not.

But wait ...

This is Long Island. Filled with marshes, forests and thick woods alongside the parkways. We have ponds, lakes and rivers. We got an ocean. We got bays and sounds all over the place. Golf courses. Near empty barrier Islands ... All proven dumping grounds on Long Island.

There are so many bodies that have not been found.

Because of their tremendous costs – demonically high police salaries (over 50% make more than $200,000.00 dollars per year and so much higher) – Nassau and Suffolk County Police Departments have no “Cold Case” units. As a result the so called “cold cases” – that would be the dead women and some men – just sit there. Many of the families of the dead have not heard from police in decades. Nassau can only afford seven homicide detectives. Suffolk doesn’t even have a Missing Persons unit.

The Police defunded themselves on conservative Long Island with high salaries. Can you feel it … CAN YOU DIG IT. Back the Blue.

Murder by Numbers – One, Two … Three Hundred

Once that you've decided on a killing

First you make a stone of your heart

And if you find that your hands are still willing

Then you can turn a murder into art

Andy Summers / Gordon Sumner –The Police (Murder By Numbers)

What follows is a small example of the victims of the Long Island Serial Killer phenomena that our favorite Internet whack job – the lovable Murder Inc. … you magnificent bastard – feels are possibly … as in possibly “could be” … connected to the Long Island Serial Killer – a.k.a. Rotund Rex … the plump man that bagged the Gilgo Four, Jessica Taylor, Sandra Costilla, Valerie Mack etc. and how much etcetera we just don’t know.

That devilish Murder Inc. calls this “Early LISK” … “any possible murders that could be connected to the Long Island Serial Killer case going back to the early 1980s.” Murder Inc. notes: “Many of these long forgotten murders are characterized by researchers as ‘internet silence,” which means no mention of the murders anywhere on the internet besides newspaper archives. The debonair Murder Inc. “has spent the last 12 years researching and compiling possible murders that may be connected to the Long Island Serial Killer case.”

I’m laughing like hell. “12 [fucking] years.” Some days I curse about wasting only an hour of my short remaining life.

Rex did not kill all of these girls – and boys – and dozens upon dozens more that have never been found or reported; or reported and forgotten. Oh they were killed by Long Island Serial Killers but not portly fat Rex.

I hope I don’t get in trouble for fat shaming the Long Island Serial Killer … but he let himself go

The Confession Takers

Before we get to the really graphic killings let’s start with a 1975 killing that’s not so bad – no major torture except to the innocent 17 year old suspect – brutalized by Suffolk Cops. The victim was barely tortured. No dismemberment or mutilation. So it might not interest you hardcore Facebook Profilers. Just garden variety rape and murder.

It’s the rape and murder of a 14 year old girl that the 17 year old pictured at the beginning of this chapter was falsely accused of committing. It’s illustrative of the relationship between sex killings and depraved overpaid cops on Long Island.

The 17 year old is Keith Bush. He could have been one of the brothers in the Jackson Five. Go back and take another look at his picture.

This is going to be one of those black and white stories … you can tell … right.

Saturday January 11, 1975, is the day the last remains of the rocket that had launched the famous “Skylab” into orbit in 1973, re-entered the atmosphere and burned up at about 3:00 pm. I actually remember that. White folks everywhere worried that they’d be hit by it.

That morning the Black parents of 14-year-old Sherese Watson have bigger worries. They live in Bellport, a still almost rural town in Suffolk County. Their daughter did not come home that night. They call the Suffolk County Police Department. Bellport is a rare town in Suffolk County because it has Black people almost – not quite – mixed in with White people.

Sherese Watson’s parents know their 14-year-old failed to come home from a party at a friend’s house just a few blocks away. She loved life. She loved her parents. She did not run away.

The police look for Sherese but they cannot be looking very hard or good. It takes until a day later to find her body in an open field close to the party and Sherese’s house. She is found face down. Her pants partially unzipped. There are multiple small punctures on her back. An autopsy later determines that the killer strangled Sharese with enough power to break the hyoid bone in her throat. Police found a black plastic hair pick and a white hat near Sharese’s body.

A common occurrence on Long Island.

The party was a Friday Night party. The best kind. About 100 young people attended the party at some time that Friday night. That’s big.

The Suffolk County Police believe that Sherese left the party at about 1:30 a.m. A few minutes later, partygoers heard screaming. They heard a female shout “Rape” near where Sherese’s body is found. Nobody called the police. Stupid high kids thought it was a prank.

A girl named Brenda Carlos told police that she saw Sherese talking with a boy named Keith Bush at about 1:15 a.m. However that is all Brenda saw because Brenda went home before Sherese left.

Monday January 13, police visit Keith Bush at his house. Keith is 17. African American. He has no criminal record. He has no father at home either. Suffolk Police love that weakness.

Keith told the police that he remembered Brenda Carlos leaving the party. He also remembered Sherese Watson leaving a few minutes later. Keith informed the Police that he stayed until about 3:00 a.m. Then he got a ride home with some friends. By the time I was 17 I had no curfew whatsoever. Maybe my folks didn’t care about me commented some of my friends’ parents.

That same day the police interview a 15-year-old girl named Maxine Bell. Maxine recently ran away from her foster home. She lived in an abandoned building. Cops found another weakness.

In the statement Maxine allegedly gave to police Maxine said that she was just standing around outside the party for multiple hours. Just standing there outside on the winter night of January 10, 1975 – before Global Warming. Maxine said she saw Keith Bush and Sherese Watson leave the party together. Maxine told Suffolk Cops that they were “hugged up,” – Bush’s arm cradling Sherese around the back of the neck. That’s how teenage boys walked with their girlfriends back in the 70s. It was territorial. She’s mine.

In truth Maxine Bell never saw Keith Bush. She didn’t even make up that story on her own. But Maxine Bell did something worse than kill Keith Bush.

Tuesday, January 14, 1975, Keith Bush is taken out of school. He’s told that the police want him at the police station to look at photos of people who were at the party. Suffolk County Police tactic. Separate the kid from the parent or parents, teachers or any responsible adult.

It’s a lie. When Keith Bush got to the 5th Precinct in nearby Patchogue, Detectives Dennis Rafferty and August Stahl were waiting. They are two of the worst Suffolk had to offer – the worst of the worse. You may remember Stahl as the Suffolk County Detective that lived at “Camp Seigfried.” (The Bad Place Part I) Camp Seigfried is the village in Yaphank, Suffolk County, later renamed the “German American Settlement League.” You couldn’t move into the neighborhood until recently unless you proved a full German blood line. Before WWII it was a sprawling Hitler Youth Camp. My mother was half German. I don’t want to move there.

Rafferty wasn’t any better than Stahl.

Bush is questioned at the 5th Precinct. Then Stahl and Rafferty drive Bush 30 minutes away to the Homicide Division offices in Hauppauge – a few miles down the road from where I currently live. The building with the boiler room torture chamber where “suspects” were beaten until they confessed to whatever Suffolk Cops wanted them to confess to.

Keith Bush the teenager with no criminal record stood a full 5’5” tall and weighed a thundering 126 pounds. Detectives August “Zeig Heil” Stahl and Dennis “Shanty” Rafferty brought Keith Bush to the windowless homicide division dungeon. They interrogated him for several hours. He denied even being with Sherese. They would not let Bush call his mother. He begged them.

That is illegal. Hooah!

At this point Stahl and Rafferty used some basic Suffolk County Police methods. Aided by several other tough guy officers Stahl and Rafferty beat and terrorized Bush. These heroes pinned 5’5”, 126 pound, Keith Bush down, repeatedly kicked him in his genitals – attacking the genitals is a favorite tactic of Suffolk Cops. They also struck Keith Bush on the head multiple times with a large book – possibly a telephone book. Those books were huge. Tough guy Rafferty warned Bush that the torture would continue unless he signed a confession that the detectives wrote. “Bush became despondent, disoriented and desperate from the unrelenting pain and finally agreed to sign a confession.” A confession that the detectives wrote with their own hands.

The confession stated that Bush killed Sherese Watson after she refused his sexual advances. The confession said that when Sherese pulled Bush’s hand away from her pants, Bush began stabbing her with his hair pick. When she screamed, he strangled her to keep her quiet.

Now if Bush had a father at home. And it was me. Well there’d be plenty of Second Amendment at the Police Department Offices in Hauppauge with just a boat load – perhaps two boat loads; like really huge cargo ships – filled with grieving widows and orphans. Because the man that does not fear dying but only fears a low body count on his way out is the most dangerous man of all. I don’t want to waste my death like I wasted my life.

Around the time that the State of New York Commission of Investigation (“SIC”) began its investigation of the Suffolk County Police the local newspaper – Newsday – set out on its own investigative journey. In December of 1986 the paper published a remarkable series of articles entitled “The Confession Takers.” One of the major revelations, referenced in the SIC report, was that Suffolk County had a 94 percent confession rate in homicide prosecutions. This far exceeded the 54 to 73 percent rate in six comparable jurisdictions, including Nassau and Westchester counties.

Do you know how extraordinary that is? If you take 100 hardened murderers … you put these hardcore killers in a room with a skilled steely eyed Suffolk County Homicide Detective … a full 94 out of the 100 will confess to the crime of murder – just break down into a puddle of self-loathing confession – making a conviction highly likely. (That thing on my lip is just a canker sore … I won’t come in your mouth … watch me make this guitar wail … and the check is in the mail)

The Newsday series described the clever tactics used by Suffolk Detectives in obtaining these written confessions. For example some confessors were illiterate and/or retarded. One notable confession was written in English and signed by a suspect who spoke and read only Spanish.

In 1981, a jury awarded one William Rupp $35,000 dollars in damages. The jury found that detectives had smashed him in the head with a chunk of concrete while coercing a confession later proven false. Other defendants told of being beaten with fists and telephone books (leaves no marks); having their testicles squeezed. Suffolk Cops are S&M type Al Pacino “Cruising” queers.

In 1985, Suffolk police picked up a 17-year-old for rape and robbery. They fired a shotgun near his head. They placed a gun barrel in his mouth. Then they gave him a beating that required hospital treatment. Suffolk County eventually agreed to pay $80,000 dollars in a damage settlement. The 17 year old was completely innocent and stupid for taking such little money.

We have to remember this is early 80s money. Things have changed. A jury recently awarded $30,000,000.00 million dollars to the estate – Suffolk cops killed him – of a man beaten with flashlights and repeatedly bitten on the buttocks by Suffolk cops. (That’s Joe Biden’s inflation and more kinky homosexual Suffolk cops)

The Commission found "a remarkable lack of training for Suffolk homicide detectives in regard to even routine investigative techniques." One of the County's most experienced veteran detectives, the aforementioned beater of Keith Bush – Dennis “Shanty” Rafferty – admitted to knowing next to nothing about ballistics. He “may have sat through a forty-minute course in some school I went to." According to the Commission, Rafferty's supervisor, Detective Sergeant McGuire, "replied with an equally disturbing answer with respect to his own knowledge of blood-related evidence.":

Q. After they have done that, what can they tell you about the stain?

A. I guess they can tell you if it's blood.

Q. Anything else?

A. Maybe, if it's food.

Q. If it is blood, what else can they tell you about it?

A. I have no idea, sir. I guess they can break it down further, depending maybe on the freshness or whatever.

"The blind spot this indicates for this Detective Sergeant, who was a homicide team supervisor for 11 years, is remarkable. McGuire omits even simple items, for example, blood-type, let alone the more specialized information that can be gained from the forensic analysis of blood."

-- SIC Report

The mishandling of evidence reached new depths of despair in People v. Corso, one of the two murder cases that led directly to the SIC investigation (although the investigation would end up covering much more than the two cases). The victim was killed – “slain gangland-style" – in his office. The Dago victim’s answering machine contained messages from that very day, including some from known organized crime figures. Suffolk cops auctioned off the machine without listening to or transcribing the tape. Nor were transcripts made from the victim's Dictaphone.

That leaves the judges. While Suffolk detectives were presenting confessions in 94 percent of their homicide cases between 1975 and 1985, Judges only suppressed five percent of them. "Prosecutors and police said that indicates that Suffolk detectives are doing their job properly." But "some lawyers and former officials, however, say that it indicates that Suffolk judges are shirking their role as reviewers of police conduct" wrote Newsday.

A former president of the Suffolk Criminal Bar Association, Robert Quinlan, told Newsday: "To suppress a confession is quite an act by a judge. It can earn you ostracism from other judges."

Former District Attorney Henry O'Brien – the District Attorney the Suffolk County Police and the mob tried to get rid of by alleging O’Brien was “gay on the job” – told Newsday that giving police the benefit of the doubt creates "an atmosphere where the police can do no wrong." O’Brien was a bit of a by the book reformist who went after dirty cops and organized crime. August “Zeig Heil” Stahl – the aforementioned beater of Keith Bush – was instrumental in attempting to get rid of O’Brien for allegedly being “gay on the job.” He was the go between for the Dago mob and police officials. Together Stahl and mobsters contacted anyone O’Brien had ever worked with. They asked the question: “Did you ever catch O’Brien being gay.”

It’s guilt by accusation in Suffolk … even of being gay. (See Just Who are the Homos)

In any event, Bush was charged with murder and attempted sexual abuse. He quickly told authorities that he signed the confession to avoid being beaten to death. Also that the detectives did not let him call his mother.

Suffolk police were unfazed. They executed a search warrant on Bush’s house on January 14, where they recovered a metal hair pick that authorities claimed at trial was the weapon that left the punctures on Sherese’s back. We later learned that the hair pick the Suffolk police seized didn’t even belong to Bush. A friend had brought it over after the police said they wouldn’t leave the house until they had an “afro pick.” Again if there were a man in the house and it were me I would have unleashed copious amounts of Second Amendment and a little caveat emptor, habeas corpus, sodomiticum et raptus, caedes – I would have fucked some people ... take this sausage ... Bang – causing nothing but glee for local undertakers and salacious media like the National Enquirer.

On April 18, Suffolk cops arrested 21-year-old John Jones on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle. It’s not clear how Jones came to the attention of the homicide detectives. Nevertheless Detectives questioned Jones about Sherese’s death. They also administered a polygraph test on May 1st that was alleged to be “inconclusive.”

Detectives interviewed Jones again on May 9th. Jones said he was at the party where he got drunk. He started to walk to his sister’s house – his sister lived east of the party whereas the body was found to the west of the party. Jones said he literally stumbled – as in tripped – over Sherese’s body in the field where police found her. In the process of stumbling Jones claimed to have dropped his hair pick. He said he didn’t know the girl was dead until he heard about it on the news. The ole stepped on the dead girl but did not kill her and didn’t even know she was dead until he heard it on the news – story.

The detectives gave him another polygraph test. This one with Richard Arther, who ran a well-known schlock Scientific Lie Detection firm in Manhattan called “You Tell Us If He Lied and We’ll Repeat It Inc.” … I am lying. That’s not the name. But it might as well have been.

Richard Arther said that Jones’s denials exhibited “slight indications of truthfulness.” Suffolk detectives told him to say that because they had it in for Bush. Maybe they hated the Jackson Five.

Suffolk Detectives dropped Jones as a suspect.

On February 16, 1976, Jones was arrested and charged with third-degree rape.

Two weeks later, on March 1, 1976, Bush’s trial began in Suffolk County. Suffolk built its case on Bell’s false testimony, Bush’s beaten confession, and planted fake forensic and physical evidence. For example Dr. Howard “Schmekel” Adelman of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office said the puncture wounds on Sherese’s back were consistent with the arrangement of the tines on the hair pick found at Bush’s house … “Schmekel” Adelman lied.

What about the hair pick Jones allegedly dropped is the first question …

Moreover the metal hair pick that cops falsely said belonged to Bush was not entered into evidence at trial. If I were the defense attorney I would have been screaming “where’s the hair pick” during the whole trial. The judge would have had me dragged out of Court – held in contempt – and I would have still screamed “where’s the hair pick.” I would have broken away from Court Officers, ran to the Court House steps and screamed “WHERE’S THE FUCKING HAIR PICK?” That kind of passion gets you an acquittal even from bent fascist Suffolk jurors.

A Suffolk County detective testified that three fibers recovered from beneath Sherese’s fingernails "did contain" fibers taken from a denim jacket worn by Bush. When cops use the word “did” they want jurors to think “the cop didn’t just say it … it “did” … did is corroboration.”

Rafferty testified. He denied any wrongdoing during Bush’s interrogation. He said Bush “did” freely and voluntarily give his confession which detectives wrote for him.

Bush’s attorney, Harold Seligman, had no knowledge of John Jones or his statement to police. But when Seligman cross-examined Rafferty, he asked the detective, “Officer, were there other suspects on the day you interviewed my client?” No genius on Seligman’s part. That’s just a boiler plate question every schlock defense attorney asks when they did not do an investigation.

Assistant District Attorney Gerard Sullivan objected, and the jury was excused while the two sides held a conference with Judge Mervyn – or was it Melvyn – “Schmuck” Tanenbaum. Sullivan said there were no other suspects. He told the judge that “there was nobody else who was connected with the crime with any evidence.” Sullivan said that if Seligman took Rafferty down that road, it would open the door to Sullivan asking questions about all sorts of damaging raw evidence.

Sullivan would whip out his little pecker and whack it in front of the jury if it damaged Bush.

Sullivan was a conspicuous despicable liar – while in private practice he would later die of a cocaine overdose that his stalwart allies claimed to be a really – as in tremendous – as in a truly, truly big … heart attack. Moments before he died he snorted enough coke to kill a rhinoceros but the coke was never mentioned. Sullivan scored the coke off of two clients that would later go on to hire local White Trash to kill wealthy Long Island socialites Seymour and Arlene Tankleff.

As in graphically murdered …

One killer – Peter Kent – nearly decapitated poor Ms. Tankleff with a seriously dull knife. It must have taken a long time to cut off her head – well it did take a long time … he told his girlfriend that … and she told me. Meanwhile Mr. Tankleff got the bludgeoning of his life – well it killed him – that literally caved in Seymour Tankleff’s head courtesy of one Joey “Guns” Creedon and a metal pipe. Creedon told me all about it.

Who were Sullivan’s clients? Bagel store drug kingpins Jerry Steuerman and his son Todd. Sullivan’s future Law Partner Thomas “Homo Erotica” Spota – the man who killed the Gilgo/Long Island Serial Killer case … the man who just got out of federal prison … represented the Suffolk County detective (K. James McCready) that framed one Martin Tankleff for the killings of Seymour and Arlene Tankleff. Martin “Marty” Tankleff was the teenage son of the aforementioned posthumous Seymour and Arlene Tankleff. Steuerman hired McCready to frame the cold, arrogant, unlikeable but innocent Marty Tankleff to take the heat off Steuerman.

As it turns out Homo Erotica Spota – he literally jammed the Chief of Police in the ass (see “Just Who are the Homos”) – and Sullivan represented Jerry Steuerman and his son Todd. It involved narcotics. Some of these narcotics got into Sullivan’s nose, brain, blood stream, heart, etc. causing a really … as in truly, truly, massive heart attack. District Attorney Spota was quite the flaming Coke snorting Conservative Catholic School graduate too. Meanwhile everyone went after poor crusading District Attorney Henry O'Brien for allegedly being gay. All so meshugana – “meshugana” is a Yiddish slang term that means "crazy," "nonsensical."

Now we go can go back to the flaking of Keith Bush …

Nebbish (in Yiddish a man regarded as pitifully ineffectual, timid or submissive) … nebbish Seligman backed off of any inquiry that would have shown that Suffolk Cops had the real killer, and the Kangaroo Court trial continued unabated.

The existence of Jones as an alternate suspect – the actual killer – would remain hidden from Bush and his attorneys for 40 more years.

Bush testified that he didn’t kill Sherese. Meanwhile Sullivan attacked Bush’s claim of being beaten. Bush was unsure of details. For instance when asked how many times he was hit, Bush responded, “I don’t know, I know I — I wasn’t counting, but I know it was a lot of times.”

I’ve been beaten up quite a few times. I never once counted the number of blows that hit me. “That’s one … that really hurt … and that’s two … there go my teeth … that was three … oh the humanity [etc.]” – No I did not count.

Bush also had several alibi witnesses. Some testified that he had stayed at the party until 3:00 a.m. Others testified that they never saw Bell outside the party. Several alibi witnesses refused to testify – they went “into the wind.” They would later state in affidavits that police threatened to arrest them if they helped Bush. A common Suffolk tactic that I know of first-hand.

The jury had only one Black member. It deliberated for four days, before returning a verdict on April 2, 1976. They acquitted Bush of intentional premeditated murder but convicted of second-degree murder and attempted sexual abuse.

Bush got 20 years to life in prison.

After his conviction, Bush’s attorneys argued his detention was illegal. That would make the interrogation illegal. Therefore the confession he signed after being interrogated should not have come before the jury. It’s called “the fruit of poisonous tree.” The fruit is poison too.

An evidentiary hearing was held before Judge Tanenbaum in November, 1980. Maxine Bell, whose statement had been used to establish probable cause, now lived in Alabama. She returned to Suffolk County to testify. When prosecutors briefed her prior to the hearing, she recanted – took it all back. Bell then testified at the hearing that she had been pressured by the police to place Bush at the party. She claimed to be young and scared when she testified. She swore that the detectives had preyed on her fears. Nothing would sway Tanenbaum.

Tanenbaum held that Bell’s recantation lacked credibility. He further held that there was probable cause to kidnap Bush. Tanenbaum was a Schmuck – I said that already. Fuck Tanenbaum. I did not say that yet.

Bush’s trial occurred before the use of DNA as forensic evidence. In 2006, Bush wrote to Adele Bernhard, the head of the innocence clinic at Pace Law School. The clinic got court approval to conduct DNA testing on fingernail scrapings recovered from Sherese’s body. It excluded Bush as a contributor to the genetic material; three years later, testing excluded Bush as the contributor to genetic material found on the plastic pick. Inexplicably, the metal hair pick was missing; destroyed in 1983.

That’s not really so “inexplicable.” As we know the pick was planted. What better way to protect the plant – the flake – then destroy the evidence “inexplicably.” Suffolk always “inexplicably” destroys evidence when they’re protecting cops. Including evidence that some of their cops may be serial killers. But we’ll leave that for another day.

Bernhard filed a motion to reverse Bush’s conviction. She cited both the DNA test results as well as the aforementioned SIC Report that criticized the investigative tactics of Rafferty and other officers on the Suffolk County police force. Should have been a slam dunk but no dice.

Prosecutors called Bush’s motion a “fishing expedition” – that’s such overused hack. They downplayed the DNA test results by claiming possible contamination. Motion denied.

Bush became eligible for parole in 1996. The parole board turned him down six times before releasing him in March 2007. They refused to release him because he refused to admit to guilt. Bush would later say, “I refused to let them do to me as a man what they did to me as a boy.”

Bush moved to Connecticut. The State required him to register as a Level 3 sex offender which subjected him to constant monitoring of his movements. He was also barred access to the Internet. During an inspection of his home, officials found he was working on his niece’s computer to write his memoirs purportedly entitled “I Got Fucked Over – 11 Crackers and an Uncle Tom” – just kidding. I don’t know the title.

The computer had Internet access. Bush maintained he never went online. But in 2014, authorities sent him back to prison for another year. One year of prison for allegedly googling.

In 2016, Bernhard and her students filed a FOIL request for the investigative and autopsy records from Bush’s case. Initially snubbed, they threatened litigation. The county granted access.

I do this every day it seems in the Natasha Jugo case. Except I usually have to sue.

The first set of documents from Suffolk included the autopsy material. Dr. Michael Baden, a former chief forensic pathologist for the New York State Police reviewed this. He’s the expert that maintains that Shannan Gilbert was strangled. Although the hair pick had been “destroyed,” there was still a photograph. Baden demonstrated that the pattern and the spacing of the tines on the pick didn’t line up with the puncture marks found on Sherese’s body. The puncture marks were in groups of three, rather than in a longer line consistent with the pick. You see the “inexplicably” destroyed pick had 10 tines – wow that is kind of obvious; no wonder they destroyed it. In addition, some of the wounds were too deep to have been made by a pick.

Of equal importance, Baden’s report said that there was no bleeding around the wounds. This meant that poor Sherese had been dead when she was stabbed. This all conflicted with Bush’s confession where he allegedly stated that Sherese was stabbed, then strangled to death. Obvious proof that Suffolk County detectives invented the confession and just beat Bush into signing it.

During his testimony, Medical Examiner “Schmekel” Adelman had never been asked about whether the wounds were pre- or post-mortem. Nebbish Seligman again. Oh by the way … fuck you Adelman.

The second set of documents, turned over between October 2017 and April 2018, included the police interviews with Jones, Jone’s statement placing him at the crime scene, and the polygraph examinations. Bernhard also got affidavits from witnesses who swore Suffolk Cops threatened to arrest them if they helped Bush. She obtained a new affidavit from Maxine Bell.

In July 2018, Bernhard presented her findings to the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy “Hapless” Sini. Hapless Sini had taken office in January 2018. One of Sini’s first actions was to establish a Conviction Integrity Bureau. That did not sit well with Suffolk Cops who run Suffolk County – so they stalled the Long Island Serial Killer case and made damn sure that Sini would lose his bid for reelection to Ray “Red Wave” Tierney.

In any event the DA’s office opened its own investigation.

Their report, contained in a motion to throw out Bush’s conviction, concluded that prosecutors had committed a Brady violation by not disclosing the Jones files to Bush’s attorneys. A Brady violation means that the prosecution failed to hand over evidence that demonstrated that the Defendant is not guilty. They violate Brady more times than rabbits copulate. Usually no one ever knows except them.

The motion also suggested that Jones, who died in 2006, was “the most viable suspect in Watson’s murder.” But they knew this in 1975.

The Conviction Integrity Bureau had its own medical examiner review Baden’s report. He agreed with the conclusions. While the DA’s office said that it could not resolve the question of whether Bush was abused during his questioning, evidence supported his claim. Moreover, “factors such as Bush's youth and psychologically coercive tactics employed by the detectives assigned to this investigation suggest that Bush could have offered a false confession as a result of severe psychological pressure, even without application of physical force.”

The Bureau also noted that Zieg Heil Stahl, in his interview with the CIB, displayed racial animus when discussing the case: “Yeah I know, Keith Bush, I remember,” Stahl said. “That fucking nigger did it.” Stahl also lamented: “Why is this thing being opened up again, I thought Tommy Spota took care of this?” Stahl claimed that the DNA under Sherese’s fingernails could have come from anyone at the party, which he said was “more like a riot.”

Stahl further opined that homicide cases in Suffolk communities with significant Black populations were “misdemeanor homicides.”

When complimented for looking fit for a man in his 90s Stahl complained that he couldn’t “pound people” like he once did. I do not think Stahl ever pounded anyone that was not being held down by other cops. Stahl’s a faggot. Fuck you Stahl.

Rafferty would only answer questions from the CIB through his attorney Jame O’Rourke who replaced Spota’s former law partner Gerard Sullivan who prosecuted Bush. After Sullivan had the really, really, massive … like his fucking heart blew up … heart attack from the colossal cocaine score that he bought off of the men that had the Tankleffs killed. After that sad event O’Rourke was more than willing to step to the plate to be Homo Erotica Spota’s next butt buddy partner. You can find O’Rourke defending weirdo C. Peter Hacket in the Shannan Gilbert Civil case. An “Irish Curse” till the end.

Back to Maxine Bell: Bell had given an extensive affidavit in 2016. She said she didn’t know why she had said that Bush had left the party with Sherese, “I was scared of the police, I believed I was doing the right thing by confirming what they already believed.” She said she had written to Bush in prison in 1992, apologizing for what she had done. Too late Maxine “Hell’s” Bell.

Unlike Meshugenah Tanenbaum, the CIB found Bell’s recantation to be credible: no one remembered Bell being at the party; the idea that a scared and hungry runaway had stood outside on a cold January night for nearly four hours also seemed implausible. No shit Sherlock.

On May 22, 2019, an order vacating Bush’s conviction was approved by Judge Anthony Senft in the Supreme Court of Suffolk County. Speaking to the court, Hapless Sini said, “We believe Keith Bush did not commit this murder. We believe that John Jones is a more probable suspect.”

From 1975 to 2006 when he died – 31 years – we have no idea how many women John Jones killed. And this story repeats and repeats itself over and over again.

That’s why Long Island has so many Serial Killers.

Bush, at the age of 62, said:

I lived with a lot of pessimism about the criminal justice system because I’ve always experienced denial after denial, but there was something that drove me, enabled me to continue to fight and to continue to believe that if you persist long enough, ultimately you can succeed.

Wow that’s positive.

I guess I really didn’t do much from age 17 to 62 – not quite 62 yet. I suppose I had sex like most people. What is there … 8.2 billion people on earth or so. People are having lots of sex. I bounced from age 17 to 29 so I had a ton of bar fights. I made a living as an actor doing mostly commercials. Fronted a rock band that got a major label deal. The record was shelved after we recorded it.

I cleared an African American man of a racially charged 55 year old homicide conviction. After I cleared him he became even more unhappy because he had nothing to live for. For decades no one thought he was innocent until I came around. Now everyone knew he was innocent – it was all over the news – so he had nothing to do anymore. No one to convince of his innocence. Yes old man you’re innocent, now go away. Anyway I set a record – oldest homicide ever reversed – but no one figured that out except me and no one credited me with it. Meaningless.

I Graduated 3rd in my Law School class but big money law firms hated me … finally went bald after decades of fighting it with vitamins. Prosecuted Russian organized crime. Defended Russian Organized Criminals. Had a ton of middle-aged debauchery – after I shaved what little hair I had. Bad girls love big guys with the shaved heads that wear shades – the one thing I learned in life. I had children. Coached youth football. Never won a championship. Never hit that high note …

Do you know what … I never had a happy day in my life.

I should have been in prison and not Keith Bush.

So it’s time for one of my own Positive Affirmations to bolster what Mr. Bush said:

There are gulls in the sky

They all mimic love's cry

And I wish I could die

Me or them

In November 2019, Bush filed a claim with the New York Court of Claims seeking big buck$ for his wrongful conviction. In August 2020, Bush filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Suffolk County seeking damages for his wrongful conviction. Bush settled his state claim in December 2020 for $5,250,000, and received $16 million in 2021 to settle his lawsuit against Suffolk County. Wow … Over $21,000,000.00 – good God – dollars of my tax money. (I told you these cases are worth more now – Joe Biden’s inflation) Why couldn’t I have gotten his case? I wonder if Bush will buy me a cup of coffee if I visit him.

Meanwhile August Stahl still lives at Camp Seigfried in Yaphank, Suffolk County at 95 years old – just too evil to fucking die. Still collecting a pension that I have to pay for. I really hope he contracts Long Covid at the same time as he contracts Lyme disease and it really racks him up before it takes him. The devil is eternal at least until Long Covid.

As to Dennis Rafferty it seems he was involved in every high profile beaten confession in Suffolk County. He even beat the hell of Ronald “Butch” Defeo the Amityville Horror killer that gunned down his parents, brother and sisters – six in all – in one night of self-entitled murder. It’s been five decades and no one can locate Defeo’s blood stained jacket – his blood – shed by Shanty Rafferty’s beating. Probably “inexplicably” destroyed by Suffolk Police.

Rafferty is approaching his mid-80s. He too refuses to die. He summers on Long Island where he delights in taking his grandchildren out on his boat and winters in Florida. He too takes my tax money in the form of a pension. I hope his boat goes down with all on board in a freak White Squall. Fuck you Rafferty.

Now for Some Real Killings

Now let’s get to the juicy killings. Enough of this G-Rated snowflake stuff. We need killings worthy of Facebook sleuths like you. And here we go with just a few of the grisly killings ...

… Oh damn. As my psychiatrist would say on the occasions where I vividly recounted a violent road rage incident … I am sorry Ray but we’re out of time.

When we come back the real killings and great police work will begin in earnest. And so will your Serial Killer Profile training my brave Internet Detectives.
