THE BAD PLACE (PART I)

THE BAD PLACE (PART I)

Just a few of the “lost girls” murdered by Suffolk’s Finest: The Long Island Serial Killer.

The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?

Edgar Allan Poe

I believe the dead haunt us because we love them too little. We forget them, you see.

The Pale Blue Eye (A Fictional film about Edgar Allan Poe)

In October 2020 two unidentified men in their early 20s were found dead in a motel room hot tub. Suffolk County Police told the media that there was “nothing suspicious.” The media believed them. But I think if you looked up “suspicious” in the dictionary you’d see two 20-year old men lying dead in a motel room hot tub. Turns out the two 20-year old men were murdered (No shit Sherlock). I found out who they were. Who the killers are and why they were killed. There have been no arrests and no further media inquiries. The right kind of people just disappear in Suffolk. One of the boys was named Trent. The unspeakable way his sister was tortured, murdered and dumped near a Suffolk roadway a year prior to Trent’s killing is heart-rending.

This is the only time in this series where I will curse and express an opinion.

You’re about to go to the most fucked up place in America … And it’s not even in West Virginia or Texas. It’s a County on Long Island that is about 25 miles from “liberal” New York City. It’s called Suffolk. Suffolk County despite its location voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump. The geographically smaller County to the West of Suffolk – between Suffolk and the Sodom and Gomorrah “liberal” City – isn’t any better than Suffolk. That’s Nassau County.

Stupid people live in Suffolk County. Much to my mortification – with the last name “Zuppa” – it seems that a majority of the stupid people are Italian Americans who believe that Columbus was a hero instead of a deviant murderer. There are also stupid people of Irish, German, Polish, Scandinavian and various other nationalities too. Everyone here is demonically stupid. Stupidity knows no race, creed or color in Suffolk. It knows almost everyone else.

Razor blades in Halloween candy is the stuff of urban legends. Not in Suffolk. It just happened to a young girl in Stony Brook, Suffolk County a week before I wrote this sentence. Another kid got sick because someone gave him cannabis edibles disguised as Halloween candy.

Suffolk County is the home of NYPD Officer Michael Valva (Italiano). He killed his 8-year-old son, Thomas. Thomas died of hypothermia because his cop father and his father’s girlfriend made him stay in a freezing cold garage in the middle of winter. It was 19 degrees outside the night little Thomas died. He was autistic and would sometimes make in his pants. His father Police Officer Michael Valva hosed him down with cold water.   Heyyy Back the Blue

The boy had been beaten, sexually molested and starved for months – so death at least brought him the peace I crave. A Suffolk County Judge did nothing but put the boy in mortal danger until the day he died. They convicted Michael Valva. He got 25 to life. He may have avoided prosecution all together if he was a member of the Suffolk County Police. Michael Valva’s girlfriend Angela Pollina (so Italian) ended up being convicted of the murder too. Angela’s defense was the following: I am evil but I am no killer. Brilliance all over Suffolk County.

Then there’s Yaphank – a quaint Suffolk County hamlet – home to the German American Settlement League formerly known as “Camp Siegfried.” In its heyday Camp Siegfried consisted of 54 wooded acres that served as a summer camp for American Nazi youth. By 1935, Adolf Hitler himself supplied Camp Siegfried with teachers, Nazi philosophy textbooks and uniforms. The German American Settlement League honored Hitler by naming the main street after him. They also named a street after Goebels, etc., and so on. Nazi flags festooned the grounds, along with pictures of Hitler. Men wore Italian Fascist-style “blackshirts” and Nazi uniforms. Weekend-morning Long Island Rail Road trains called "Camp Siegfried Specials" ran from Penn Station in New York City to Yaphank.  These trains carried human cargo just like the trains in Eastern Europe. But the Siegfried Specials carried guests who wanted to spend time at this family-oriented summer retreat – there were no death camps in America besides so called “Indian Reservations.”

In 1938, 40,000 people attended the annual German Day festivities at Camp Siegfried. That same year there was a case brought against the German American Settlement League for failing to register with New York's Secretary of State – a violation of the Civil Rights Law of 1923 (enacted to control the Ku Klux Klan). During the trial it was found that to become a member of the League one had to swear allegiance to Hitler. A witness was asked to demonstrate how those at the camp saluted the American flag. He responded by giving the Nazi salute. When asked if this was "the American salute,” the witness answered: "It will be." The League lost the case. If it went to the United States Supreme Court as currently configured they undoubtedly would prevail.

It was not all volley ball and sauerkraut at Camp Siegfried. Some campers were coerced into having sex with other campers to preserve the Aryan race. They also had to attend anti-Semitic, white supremacist lectures by Nazi propagandists. It takes all kinds of people …

Then came World War II and America sent millions of men and women overseas to possibly die fighting Nazis. And America said: “Enough Yaphank, Suffolk County – you can’t be Nazi anymore.” The FBI seized the camp and the land. Yaphank was upset. The camp provided vital jobs for the residents of Yaphank. Today Yaphank houses numerous Suffolk County Government buildings and the Suffolk County Police Department Headquarters. Isn’t it a little too ironic … sung Alanis Morrissette … Yeah I really do think

After the war the League got the bungalows and land back. But Adolf Hitler Street had to be renamed. Goebbels is gone too, etc. Some Nazis might say: “It’s just not fair. America has statues of Robert E. Lee, Nathan Bedford Forrest, Stone Wall Jackson, etc., insurrectionists that killed hundreds of thousands of Americans, made slaves out of Black people and killed and raped them too. We wave the Confederate flag. Why can’t we have a street named after Adolf Hitler in Yaphank?” And I say, “that’s wrong … but it’s actually a good argument.”

Today the German American Settlement League is a private community. Up until 2015 only people of “German extraction” were allowed to live here. That finally ended when an outraged German couple – the Kneers – brought a lawsuit. The Kneers were not outraged about racism. Rather the Kneers were outraged because they could not advertise the sale of their home in the newspapers as per the Settlement By-Laws. Limiting advertising helped keep non-Germans from slipping through the cracks. The Kneers knew this because they signed a contract stating such when they first bought their home at a discounted German price in the early 90s. But now they wanted top dollar and the same rules worked against them. So they sued.

The President of the German American Settlement League – Robert Kessler – was visibly shaken by the suit. He claimed that by-the-by the Bylaws would be changed and they were hardly ever enforced – there were just quite coincidentally no Black people around and once in a while a Nazi symbol would just show up … here or there. Kessler was quick to state that Jews even sometimes visited settlement residents. I have no idea when Jews visit my neighborhood – members of my family don’t announce “oh look … we got Jews visiting the neighborhood.” So Kessler’s knowledge of Jewish whereabouts seems out of sorts.

Kessler was beside himself with grief over the Kneer’s treachery – “they were like my children,” he lamented. “We don’t have money to fight a lawsuit. The German American Settlement League only collects a small amount in membership dues.”

Retired Suffolk County Police Homicide Detective August “Augie” Stahl who was a Settlement Board member – and Kessler’s brother in law – was philosophical. When asked about the prospect of non-whites moving into the neighborhood Stahl simply said: “So be it.” Keep an eye out for August “Augie” Stahl in this evolving Suffolk County story. As a Suffolk County Police Department Detective Stahl was famous for calling the murder of any Black person “a misdemeanor homicide.” Stahl also famously beat confessions out of non-whites etc. and so on.

My son and I visited the Settlement as part of our journey into the rich culture of Suffolk County. There are two brick pillars that stand as sentinels at the entrance to the private main roadway called “German Boulevard.” At that entrance a sign says: “German American Settlement League … Private Community … Members and Guests Only.” But there were no guards with submachine guns – I guess they couldn’t afford them. We drove inside. The community didn’t look like “Triumph of the Will” (the famous Nazi propaganda film) – more like “Triumph of the White Trash.” The club house where the yearly Oktoberfest is held is almost nice. Funny thing is the “nicest” home proudly flew a “Trump 2024” flag from a tall flag pole. Next to the Trump flag an American flag also flew. It brought back memories of the pictures taken of Camp Siegfried from the 1930s when a Nazi flag always flew next to an American flag in the front of homes.

Camp Siegfried In Yaphank Suffolk County – Jared Kushner and Black people allowed to live here since 2015 but they don’t (It’s not a nice place)

Of course Suffolk has its lighter moments. Take Andrew “the Loser” Frey of Coram, Suffolk County. Coram is another white trash Hamlet in Central Suffolk. Frey is a devout Christian. He’s anti-abortion. He’s also a the very least an attempted sex killer. After his arraignment on charges stemming from his attempted abduction of two addicted escorts with evil intent – stay tuned – “Loser” Frey’s brother Martin was philosophical:

He’s been arrested? For what? This is surprising. He’s like minister material at a church he’s involved with [referring to Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle]

Well Brother Martin, according to the United States Attorney and the jury that convicted him this is what the fervent Christian abortion foe “Loser” Frey was arrested for:

Frey targeted and used violence against vulnerable members of our society seeking to exploit them for his own sexual gratification.

In October 2018, Frey lured an escort who was addicted to heroin into his car in Mastic – another White Trash hamlet in Suffolk. When the victim refused to accompany Frey to a secluded location on the beach, Frey became enraged and threatened her life. He tried to trap her inside his car by speeding, locking the doors and grabbing her neck. The victim managed to escape by jumping from the moving vehicle. She was all banged up but alive. Frey later tracked down this same victim who was sleeping inside of a friend’s parked car at a Long Island Railroad station. Armed with a knife, Frey tried to take the her from the car, but her friend sped away. Frey chased them in his car, but the victim once again escaped death.

In July 2019, Frey attempted to take a second escort to a secluded wooded area in Coram, New York. When she refused, Frey once again became enraged, screamed with religious fervor that he “owned” her and tried to stop her from escaping by grabbing her as he was driving. Frey’s second victim also got away by jumping out of his moving car.   She was all banged up but alive.

At the time of Frey’s arrest in November 2019, law enforcement officers searched his car and found multiple sets of handcuffs, as well as knives, rope and other items that could be used for restraint. Frey installed a device in his car which allowed him to conceal his license plate with the push of a button. Additionally, law enforcement officers recovered a Glock 23 handgun and ammunition located inside his home. Because Frey was a convicted felon and was not legally permitted to possess a firearm, he pressured his son to obtain a pistol permit to conceal that he was the true owner of the firearm. (That’s the intersection of family values and the 2nd Amendment.)

Frey’s wife was Christian philosophical about all of this: “All people make mistakes,” she said.  [And I say, “you stupid bitch – buying crypto is a mistake.”]

Andrew “Loser” Frey (Seen here telling women that abortion is evil)– Ardent Christian (He’s not a nice man)

Here is what serial killers can learn from Frey. If you try to murder addicted escorts in your car they will fight hard to the death; and do anything they can to get away. They value their lives even if no one else does. But most serial killers know this.

Things are about to get dark –

The Long Island Serial Killer (affectionately known by Internet sleuths as “LISK”): Suffolk County’s biggest tourist attraction next to the Hamptons. LISK is no “Loser” Frey. LISK is a rock star of Serial Killers, but no one comes to Suffolk to see him. They go to the Internet – websites and podcasts and Blogs and true crime shows on television or YouTube: a LISK cottage industry of depraved Q-Anon style incompetence. But few tourism dollars for Suffolk residents are generated by LISK unless someone comes up with a LISK bus tour and T-Shirts.

By the numbers: 17 dead – that we know of – depending on when and where you want to start counting and bodies not yet discovered. (He might be another “Green River Killer” – at least 48 victims – there are so many places to put bodies out here including the ocean) We don’t know.

Years active: approximately 1996 or longer to maybe the present.  Let’s go back in time to 1982. As a young man in his early 20s did LISK leave Hammerhead’s rock club in West Islip, Suffolk County, in the wee hours of the morning with 19 year old Tina Foglia. Did he dump her dismembered remains in three semen stained plastic bags near the Robert Moses Causeway. That’s near LISK’s favorite spot – Gilgo Beach. Is he still killing. We don’t know.

Method of Killing: some strangulation but we’re really not sure because by the time many bodies are discovered they’re mostly just skeletons. And we don’t know if his dismembered victims were dismembered after death or to death. Again: We don’t know.

The Victims: some female escorts including at least one transvestite, gay men and a female toddler thrown in. Obviously the toddler was not an escort. We don’t know.

Characteristics: squabbles between the deceased former Police Commissioner and now imprisoned former District Attorney, and the formerly imprisoned Chief of Police, as to whether LISK is one killer or “more than one killer.” (I sense dysfunction and it’s not with LISK) We don’t know.

LISK is known for dumping the entire victim or portions of the victim in the marsh next to a very short stretch of Suffolk’s Ocean Parkway – basically between the hamlets of Gilgo Beach and Oak Beach; with some bodies or body parts found west of that stretch of parkway and one found at nearby Fire Island. You even have a “floater” who police claim just drove to the beach to drown herself in the nude. Torsos of two of the victims were grouped together in Manorville further east in the center of Suffolk. At least one torso was discovered in Nassau – nick named “Peaches” because of a peach tattoo on her breast. The arms were found west of Gilgo. There’s still no sign of Peaches’ head or identity although police say she has relatives in Alabama. Then there are the scantily dressed and naked men found in the Manorville woods. Etc. (LISK may use other places)

DNA testing demonstrated that Peaches was the mother of the baby girl who was dumped ten miles east of Peaches and just a little bit east of the “Gilgo Four” grouping – stay tuned. DNA testing also identified one Manorville torso as Valerie Mack. She was from New Jersey. Not even her family members knew much about poor Valerie. She was never even listed as missing. Her head, arms and right foot were found at Gilgo. The other Manorville torso belonged to poor Jessica Taylor – the victim that grabs me the most because she looked like such a lost little kid. (They all looked like lost little kids – hence the book Lost Girls) Her head and arms were found at Gilgo.

Early on LISK like another serial killer active in Suffolk County named Robert Yale Shulman separated the hands from the bodies. As time progressed and LISK either evolved or someone else joined in – four of the known victims were simply strangled. Their nude bodies placed in burlap sacks; and dumped whole over a small stretch of the parkway. The bodies – the “Gilgo Four” – were spaced roughly 500 feet apart from each other and remarkably close to the parkway – at “the edge of the bramble.” We do not know how the early victims met their killer. With the Gilgo Four we know it was through the Internet – Craigslist it appears.

Experts will say that LISK “de-escalated” – as in he became less violent as he progressed. This is based upon the fact that he stopped dismembering his victims. (Some say this indicates another killer and I will end the debate soon) But dismemberment seems to be motivated by concealing the identity of the victim to avoid detection. Unless he dismembered his earlier victims while they were still conscious, dismemberment had little to do with violence although there was showmanship. Most serial killers dismember for pleasure. The Co-Ed Killer – Ed Kemper – made famous by Mind Hunter had sex with the dismembered heads of his victims. (He could only get it up for the dead) Some dismember for ease of transport to disposal. For some it’s a little of both.

LISK is smart. While LISK could not help himself – he had to taunt the friend of one victim and the sister of another victim on the phone – he limited the call durations. He only turned the phone on to talk and then turned the phone off avoiding cell site contact. (Although we have some and it’s telltale) The call to one victim’s sister happened on the victim’s cell phone. He referred to the victim’s kid sister – who had a Black father and white mother – as a “half breed;” he asked if she was “going to be a whore just like her sister” (the victim); and he told her that he was watching the victim – Melissa – “rot.” LISK said a whole lot more to this poor 15 year old about how he killed her sister and what he planned to do to her. He’s arrogant. But this taunting gives away more than the fact that he acts a lot like a Suffolk Cop handing out a speeding ticket.

LISK used so called “Burner Phones” – phones that are prepaid using cash and are purchased using fictitious names and addresses like “Mickey Mouse” – the actual name used on one such phone. (I’ve had dozens of these to talk to clients) That means the killer knew that law enforcement would check the victim’s phone records, find his number and could find him through identification information that showed up on his records. (But not with a “burner phone”) LISK separated the hands from the bodies. Why? Because escorts have prior arrests and therefore have been fingerprinted. He cut the heads off too because heads have teeth and dental records – heads (even skulls) also give rise to sketches of the women’s faces. If you cannot I.D. the victim you cannot probe her past contacts and find the killer.

With Jessica Taylor LISK tried to scrape a tattoo of her body because he knew that a tattoo on a body got Shulman caught.  But Jessica was dumped out in the open – terror and degradation. The medical examiner pieced the tattoo together.  Jessica Taylor was identified through her tattoo. After she was identified LISK stopped dumping bodies in the open.

All of this knowledge about law enforcement tactics and capabilities. It all makes you think. But we don’t know … right now. We do know that LISK is standing on the shoulders of Long Island legends. Pay attention. You’ll see. Find the patterns – don’t wait for me.

LISK appears to have followed the classic model of kill acceleration. Each sex crime just excites the need for more like me eating potato chips while trying to lose weight. I may not have had a chip in a month but if I eat just one the whole bag is gone in a couple of hours. And I feel guilty. LISK feels no guilt.

Then it seemed to stop. No bodies have been discovered since 2011. Is LISK on hiatus like BTK would do. Has he moved. Has he died. Or is he killing unclaimed escorts and/or others at an accelerated rate and getting rid of the bodies in more clever ways. He’s got thousands of acres of woods; marsh; lakes, ponds; and the Atlantic Ocean to dump in.

Not good news for Suffolk residents. This could affect property values.

On Monday December 5, 2022 the residents of all of Long Island rejoiced. They finally got some good news: Richard Cottingham affectionately known as the “Torso Killer” pleaded guilty to raping and fatally strangling a young dance teacher – 23-year-old Diane Cusick – outside Green Acres Mall in 1968.  Yeah … 1968. Richard Nixon – who in recent hindsight comparison was a fabulous president – took over for Lyndon Baines Johnson that year as POTUS. Cottingham also admitted to murdering four other women on Long Island whose homicide cases also went unsolved for about five decades.

Cottingham appeared virtually in Nassau County Court from a New Jersey prison. No need to inconvenience the man. He has a book to finish.  Cottingham was sentenced to 25 years to life. As part of his plea deal, Cottingham also took responsibility for the 1972 murders of Mary Beth Heinz, 21; Laverne Moye, 23; and the 1973 murders of Sheila Heiman, 33: and Maria Emerita Rosado Nieves, 18. That’s a total of five. Cottingham preyed on women along “the Sunrise Highway corridor” – a busy road on the South Shore of Long Island. But hey he took “responsibility” – he’s parole material.

Listen:

A vicious serial killer was taken off the streets by Long Island police. Hooah!

Wait a minute. Not so fast.

The victory was sort of hollow because Cottingham – who proudly earned his “Torso Killer” moniker after dismembering some of his other victims – has been incarcerated in the New Jersey State Prison system since 1980. About 43 years ago. Cottingham’s official historian who is authoring a book about him – he regularly chats with Cottingham – boasted at a District Attorney News Conference that 17 murders have now been attributed to Cottingham. The historian hopes to find even more in order to make for a better book. The only people who actually buy these books are buffs, budding serial killers, Wednesday and me.

Law enforcement arrested Cottingham way back in 1980 – 43 years ago – after a woman’s screams in a New Jersey motel room alerted a maid. New Jersey police charged him with trying to kill that 18-year-old and with murdering a Florida woman in the same motel earlier that month.

Women don’t go to motels. They’re evil degenerate places. And avoid men too.

Many on the Internet amateur serial killer detective site “Websleuths” opined that the “torso killer” from back in the 60-70s is LISK who is out there now somewhere in Suffolk. When they found out that the torso killer – Cottingham – has been locked up since 1980 one could feel palpable remorse coming through the Wi-fi – “how did we get that wrong … we’re so good” they lamented. “We were on the Killing Season series on A&E.”

In fact Cottingham's New Jersey prison record lists convictions in four murder cases in that state alone. For instance a New Jersey judge sentenced him to yet another term of life in prison for the August 1974 murders of two teenage girls. He drowned those poor girls in a motel bathtub and dumped their bodies in the woods. The bathtub drownings occurred less than a year after a Jones Beach Parks Commission worker found Emerita Rosado Nieves’ body – the 18 year old mentioned earlier – in a marshy area near the Zach’s Bay bus stop on Ocean Parkway on December 27, 1973. (That’s LISK territory) Nieves was bound and strangled, stuffed into a plastic bag.

To round out his resume Cottingham also confessed to the killings of two women he beheaded, (Cottingham also cut off their hands) (beheading and cutting off hands is a running theme) – he did this in a Times Square hotel room in 1979. After the rape, killing and dismemberment Cottingham set the room on fire as a finale. In 1984, a New York City jury convicted Cottingham of those murders. They also found him guilty in the 1980 butchering of another woman whom he strangled, mutilated and also set on fire in an East 29th Street hotel.

In Cottingham we have a single killer of at least 17 women that will rape; strangle; sometimes drown his victims; sometimes stuff them into a bag; sometimes dismember them (he dismembers for fun); sometimes otherwise mutilates them; and sometimes sets them on fire. Pay attention to this detail. One guy. No discernible pattern to the killing except depravity. I might have just solved the thing I told you I would solve “soon.” His FBI profile: “He hates women.”

Long Island Legend(Seen here auditioning for a part in “Cape Fear”)— “The Torso Killer” in his prime. (He is not a nice man)

In most places nurses are angels of mercy that save lives and comfort the dying. Not in Suffolk County. Ladies and gentlemen I present Suffolk’s own favorite nurse – born and bred – Richard Angelo (Italiano) … a.k.a. the “Angel of Death.” Angelo is almost not even worth mentioning – he’s a saint compared to all the rest.  No gore whatsoever. Boring.

Angelo committed 25 murders while working as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, Suffolk County. Angelo worked the aptly named “grave yard shift.” As a youth in the Suffolk town of West Islip Angelo was praised for “doing good things for people” as an Eagle Scout and volunteer fireman. He also graduated from Catholic School – St. John the Baptist in his native West Islip. It was his craving for praise that was his own undoing..

After graduating from nursing school Angelo started work at Good Samaritan in April, 1987. From September to October 1987 there were 37 "code blue" emergencies during his shift. Only 12 of the 37 patients lived (37P – 12L = 25K – it’s all Algebra). The reason for all the death: Angelo had a scheme whereby he injected drugs into patients at the hospital. This would hopefully cause the patients to nearly die – “nearly” is key. Angelo could then save them. Angelo injected patients with a combination of the drugs that caused paralysis – Pavulon and Anectine – sometimes telling the patient that he was giving them “something which would make them feel better.”

Soon after receiving the drugs, the patients began to feel numb; they had trouble breathing; and they could not communicate with medical staff.  Like a bat out of catholic hell Angelo would heroically rush to rescue the patients – according to the plan that is. The problem was that Angelo sucked as a medical practitioner – he got his nursing degree at Farmingdale College in nearby Nassau County … considered a “dumb school” by many. Twenty-five of the 37 patients that Angelo “helped” just plain died. But on the bright side he saved 12. So it goes.

Angelo eventually confessed. He was forthright if not philosophical: "I wanted to create a situation where I would cause the patient to have some respiratory distress or some problem, and through my intervention or suggested intervention or whatever, come out looking like I knew what I was doing," Here’s the philosophical part – Angelo sadly added. "I had no confidence in myself. I felt very inadequate."

At trial his lawyers argued that Angelo had multiple personalities with each personality unaware of the actions of the other personality. The jury said “bullshit.” In light of the confession it seemed apparent that all of Angelo’s precocious personalities knew he was killing people. Angelo was ultimately convicted of two counts of depraved indifference murder, one count of second degree manslaughter, one count of criminally negligent homicide and six counts of assault with respect to just five of the patients. He was sentenced to 61 years to life.  The Angel of Death is currently incarcerated in Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York where he still seeks praise and still feels inadequate. He had no influence on Long Island serial killers.

I suppose Angelo’s defense in Suffolk County today would have been the Covid defense: “Look these people were old and unhealthy and were going to die eventually anyway. I really didn’t kill them that bad.”

Richard Angelo (Italiano)(Seen here feeling inadequate) – “He really didn’t kill them that bad.” (He is not a nice man)

Then there’s Joel Rifkin (Definitely not Italian)(Made famous by an episode of Seinfeld). [Active 1989-1993] He’s big when it comes to killing young drug addicted women.

"On June 28, 1993, at approximately 3:15 a.m., New York State Troopers Deborah Spaargaren and Sean Ruane attempted to stop a 1984 tan Mazda B2000 pickup with a black cap on the Southern State Parkway for operating without a rear license plate affixed. The vehicle fled and attempted to evade the pursuing troopers."

That’s State Trooper talk. After a high speed chase through much of Long Island the Mazda attempted to make a left turn onto Old Country Road eastbound from Roslyn Road. The Mazda:

"crashed into and severed a light pole [they charge you to fix it even if you die] on the south side of the roadway. The Mazda came to rest on the sidewalk bordering Old Country Road approximately 70 to 75 feet west of Washington Avenue. [practically right in front of the Court House where he would be convicted of multiple homicides] The operator, identified as Joel David Rifkin, DOB 01/20/59, of 1492 Garden Street, East Meadow [Long Island], NY, was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. [Rifkin only lived a few miles away from Robert Shulman [next killer on the list] and their activity overlapped, but they claim they never knew each other] Troopers began an inventory search to impound the Mazda and discovered the deceased body of a prostitute identified as Tiffany Bresciani hidden in the rear. [they actually might never have looked in the bed of the pickup truck if not for the overpowering smell of a dead body. The body had festered in Rifkin’s garage for three days during intense summer heat before Rifkin attempted to dump it] Rifkin was charged with Murder Second and Reckless Endangerment First in Nassau County."

That’s more State Trooper talk. The Long Island Troopers were proud of their shrewd detective work in this case which consisted of noticing that the pickup had no rear license plate.

"Rifkin admitted to 16 additional murders of female prostitutes from the New York City and Long Island areas. An exhaustive investigation by the ‘Rifkin Task Force’ [lots of donuts, coffee and overtime there since Rifkin simply told cops everything] led to the location and identification of the remains of 15 of Rifkin’s victims. Criminal charges were either lodged or contemplated in a total of 10 jurisdictions."

State Trooper talk again. Rifkin was convicted after trial in Nassau County on May 9, 1994 for the murder of Tiffany Bresciani. He subsequently plead guilty to two counts of Murder in Suffolk County and one count of Murder in Queens County.

Joel “Rancid” Rifkin is a whacky guy. He did not do well in school. His grades were atrocious. He tried sports but he sucked. When he joined the Yearbook staff someone stole his camera. Oh yeah he was bullied.

Poor “Rancid” Rifkin could find nothing he liked and nothing at which he was good. Then he began collecting books and press clippings on sex killers, including the as of yet unidentified Green River Killer and Upstate New York’s own Arthur Shawcross (Shawcross raped and murdered two children – a boy and a girl. He should never have left prison. Parole did wonders for him – without it he would have never killed 12 women; and achieved serial killer fame). And voilà (a.k.a. “wallah”) Rifkin found something he was marginally good at.

Experts opine about the deadly feedback loop. Here it goes – serial killers are at least partially motivated to kill by press and other coverage of the killer. (We have seen this countless times – letters to the press etc.) Coverage of serial killers inspires more serial killers. And so on and so it goes. However given what we know about genetics and crime it is unlikely that the media created one single serial killer. They are born. Have serial killers learned from other serial killers through media attention be it press; television or books – undoubtedly. BTK was Son of Sam’s biggest fan. And nowhere is this truer than in the rancid suburbs of Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

“Rancid” Rifkin especially liked to kill escorts and addicted women because he felt no one would miss them or really care – especially on Long Island. Rifkin liked to bludgeon, strangle, or break their necks. He liked to putter around with the dead bodies, perhaps having sex with them, often times letting them rot and then dismembering them. Rifkin would chop the bodies up and spread them all over the place. A head here. An arm there etc. and so on and so it goes. Body parts floating down the rivers. He could get very clever and put heads in barrels and dump the barrels into rivers and lakes, etc. Or sometimes he would just dump them whole under mattresses in places where people just casually dumped garbage. He would also dump whole bodies – not dismembered – in the fields at JFK Airport. He was an impetuous rascal. Here’s what the meticulous FBI profile probably said: “He gets off on killing women.”

One murder was described thusly: “Jenny Soto was the fighter; she broke off her fingernails on my face before I snapped her neck.” [November 16, 1992] Three months later Rifkin killed Leah Evens and left her in the quaint countryside of Northampton where her skeleton was found on Mother’s Day.  Happy Mother’s Day.  Northampton is part of Southampton in Eastern Suffolk – even though that is technically impossible according to the plain meaning of the word “Southampton.” Southampton can be south of Northampton; but Southampton cannot contain Northampton and still be Southampton. Oh well. That’s Suffolk where East Northport is actually south of Northport so it is really South Northport. Onward!

Northampton in Suffolk County is a Hamlet of Southampton (I wasn’t kidding) (It is no longer a nice place)

After Rifkin confessed the police descended upon his Nassau home. In his bedroom, they recovered dozens of IDs, drivers licenses and credit cards, photos, articles of jewelry, and piles of women’s clothing taken from his victims. (He obviously copiously wanked to all this stuff)

A number of Rifkin’s victims were killed in this home. That is the safest way to dismember a body without being caught. Police found a wheelbarrow and a chainsaw stained with “human gore” in the garage. Neighbors recalled “a foul rancid odor,” but the smell of rotting flesh was attributed to the fertilizer “Rancid” Rifkin used in his landscaping business.

A fighter to the end despite his confessions and the overwhelming evidence against him, Rifkin pled not guilty. He received the maximum sentence of twenty-five years to life. On the bright side for Rifkin he will be eligible for parole at the age of 288.

Then in early 1994 while in prison, Rifkin had an argument with Long Island Rail Road Massacre perpetrator Colin Ferguson (6 killed, 19 wounded after Colin opened up on a crowded Long Island Rail Road train filled with white commuters with his semi-automatic pistol. All in an effort to combat racism). The argument was over whose killings were better. It ended when Ferguson still battling racism punched Rifkin in the mouth. As a result the prison system placed Rifkin into solitary confinement for 23 hours per day. Life had sadly come full circle for him. Rifkin was once again bullied and lonely.

Rifkin – a litigious fuck – sued claiming that this confinement violated his rights. He lost. But now he is housed with 200 other inmates at Clinton Correctional Facility. He is no longer alone. None of these inmates – obviously perverts – are allowed in the “general population.”

Rifkin helped author a book that you can buy on Amazon called: Rifkin on Rifkin. It’s a manual for budding serial killers. When the bodies started turning up in the LISK case so called experts ran to Rifkin for advice and fame. Rifkin was philosophical claiming that the killer was alienated by America which country produces serial killers. (In actuality serial killers produced America) Rivkin opined that LISK was a local just like him. Rifkin seemed to be afraid that he would be outdone by this upstart and that might hurt book sales so Rifkin – still smarting from the punch by Ferguson – pulled no punches. He stated that LISK was sloppy for dumping all of his bodies – or at least some portion of all of his bodies – in one place. But “Rancid” Rifkin is the dumb one. It only takes one body to put you in prison for life. So logic dictates that you put them all together – lessening the chances that any single body will be found. With Rifkin that body was found in his pickup for the simple reason that Rifkin drove without a license plate. Rifkin confessed to 16 others – although he even says that somewhere along the way he lost count.

Joel “Rancid” Rifkin seen here at his wind swept beach house: He is the co-author of Rifkin on Rifkin (He is not a nice man)

Then there’s Hicksville’s (Long Island’s) own Robert Yale Shulman a.k.a. Robert “Crack Head” Shulman” or “Bobby.” [Active 1989-1996] [Body Count Five Plus – that means we know of five but there might be more][Method of Killing: Hammer strike to head; and a baseball bat strike to the head; and sometimes a barbell strike to the head][Outstanding characteristics – massive dismemberment] When you just do baseball card like stats this whole process goes quicker. As stated he only lived a few miles from “Rancid” Rifkin.

Shulman worked for the Post Office. He picked up his victims at the prostitution open air markets that are some New York City streets. Shulman took the women back to a Hicksville house that he shared with his brother Barry. Shulman and the women smoked crack and had sex. Shulman then repeatedly smashed the high and unsuspecting women on their heads using a hammer and/or baseball bat and/or a barbell. Shulman would then chop-off the dead women’s hands/arms. Sometimes he dismembered the head and legs too. He got off on this. So did Jack the Ripper. Etc. It takes all kinds of people to live on Long Island.

On December 7, 1994, an employee of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works, while traveling on Long Island Avenue noticed what appeared to be a brand-new blue Rubbermaid garbage can lying on its side with other refuse at the road's edge. Stopping his pickup truck to look at the garbage can more closely, he thought: “somebody dumped a bad load of meat.” On his way back from the job later that day the worker pulled over to inspect the garbage can. He discovered a nude female body that was partially covered with plastic bags. The left leg was severed midway between the knee and groin area; both arms had been amputated; there was brutal blunt force trauma to the face, head, eye, nose and mouth. She was identified only as “Jane Doe Medford.”

On April 6, 1995, employees at a recycling plant in Brooklyn also discovered a dismembered nude female body. The body was discovered on a conveyor belt, which was stopped just before its contents would have been deposited into a compactor, tied into a bale and transferred to a landfill. She was missing her legs; her right arm was cut off at the shoulder, while the left arm was severed above the wrist. The head and torso were stuffed in a black plastic bag; the victim's face was severely beaten. She was subsequently identified as Lisa Ann Warner.

On December 11, 1995, an employee of a sheet metal company and a coworker rummaged through a dumpster located on Old Walt Whitman Road in Melville [Suffolk], New York, looking for a lost lottery ticket. The employee spotted what looked like a quilt and a brand-new sleeping bag, partially encased in plastic garbage bags. He nudged the sleeping bag with a piece of wood, and felt something “hard” inside it, which he assumed was a dead animal. He then enlisted the help of another coworker, who worked the sleeping bag's zipper open with the piece of wood. A female’s foot popped out. Both of the hands had been cut off just above the wrist. She had suffered severe head trauma and was nude. The lost lottery ticket was forgotten.

This next thing is important. This broke the case. Her left breast bore a tattoo with the name “Melani,” and just below it, what appeared to be two flowers with their stems intertwined. Because there was no way to fingerprint the victim (pay attention), the police released a physical description and a photograph of the tattoo to the news media. They requested help from the public in identifying her. Someone recognized the tattoo.

On December 13, 1995, a Suffolk County Homicide Detective acting on an anonymous tip went to an address in Hollis, Queens, where he talked to three women. They identified the victim as Melani, a fellow prostitute who worked Jamaica Avenue. The Detective took statements from two women both of whom last saw Melani on December 8, 1995. They observed Melani, later identified as Kelly Sue Bunting, getting into an older model blue Cadillac driven by a white male. On December 14, 15, and 16, the Detective canvassed a number of area motels patronized by prostitutes, reasoning that Melani could not have been killed and dismembered in a motel room without leaving behind the “conspicuous signs of a bloody encounter.” He found nothing.

From his conversations with several prostitutes the detective learned that a white male who drove a blue Cadillac frequently solicited them along Jamaica Avenue. This male took the women to a house in Nassau County. The prostitutes took the detective to the house in Hicksville, where a 1983 blue Cadillac was parked in the driveway. From the license plate number it was established that the car was registered to an individual who turned out to be Shulman's brother Barry.

The detective found that only Sears sold the brand of sleeping bag in which Kelly Sue Bunting's corpse was wrapped. He contacted Sears's loss prevention office in Boston on January 4, 1996 to inquire whether Barry Shulman had “any history with Sears department stores as a customer.” The Sears employee told the detective that “Crack Head” Robert Shulman – not Barry – using the same Hicksville address obtained a Sears credit card in July 1995.

On January 4, 1996, the two women who had led the detective to the house identified photographs depicting a white male who solicited prostitutes along Jamaica Avenue and the blue Cadillac that he drove. That was Barry Shulman. Another prostitute identified the photos and further informed that Barry had told her that he worked the night shift at the post office. Barry said that his brother Robert – who also worked at the Post Office – lived in the same Hicksville residence with him; and that Robert was angry at Melani for “beat[ing] him out of some coke.” On January 14, 1996 one of the women who saw Kelly Sue Bunting on December 8, 1995, selected Robert Shulman’s photograph from a photo array of 10 individuals. She also picked out the blue Cadillac registered to Barry from a photo array of eight vehicles.

After more detective work the Suffolk County Police arrested Shulman near his Hicksville residence on April 6, 1996. Shulman whimpered as he was placed in the back seat of an unmarked police car for the trip to the police station at good ole historic Yaphank. He waived his Miranda rights and talked and talked.

When the detectives asked Shulman to talk about prostitutes, Shulman said “prostitutes hate and kill people.” When detectives pointed out that he killed people, too, Shulman responded that he was “paying the officers' salaries,” that he was “a good citizen who paid taxes while the girls committed crimes and did not pay taxes, yet no one locked them up.”  Was he arrogant or defiant – we will never know. “Crack Head” Shulman subsequently gave four written statements where he described the killings of Kelly Sue Bunting, Jane Doe Medford and Lisa Ann Warner; he agreed to give hair, blood and saliva samples. They already had enough of his semen.

Based upon information from confessions, on April 7 and April 8, 1996 the police executed a search warrant on Shulman’s room in the house he shared with his brother. There they discovered amongst other things “hundreds of bloodstains on the walls, ceilings and surfaces of practically every freestanding item.” Through DNA analyses, various stains were determined to be consistent with the DNA profiles of Jane Doe Medford, Lisa Ann Warner and Kelly Sue Bunting.

The detective that worked this case did a brilliant job, which is very much out of the ordinary for the Suffolk County Police. I did not come close to detailing his investigation but from using the tattoo on one of the victims to find her identity – Kelly Sue Bunting; using that identity to find Kelly Sue Bunting’s friends and fellow escorts; identifying Shulman through Kelly Sue Bunting’s friends and the sleeping bag (the escorts took the detective right to Shulman’s house); identifying the blue Cadillac; garden variety surveillance; expert use of the media; the use of a cadaver dog; and the use of DNA evidence. The detective was a mother fucker.

In the age of LISK serial killers cruise the Internet and use cell phones. But serial killers leave footprints there too. And the FBI can follow those footsteps better than any people on earth. But the FBI was eliminated from the Gilgo investigation early on by disgraced former Police Chief James Burke – he went to prison for torturing someone. The initial detective in charge of the investigation was also eliminated by Burke. We’re going to talk about that a whole lot later on.

Shulman’s defense was that his brother Barry killed the women. Barry pled guilty to helping Shulman dispose of the bodies which I think makes him as bad as a killer. But he got a light sentence which disgusts me to no end.

On March 4, 1999, a Suffolk County jury convicted “Crack Head” Shulman of first-degree murder in Long Island's first capital murder case since a new death penalty law had been enacted. As a serial killer he qualified for the serial killer enhancement – which meant death. But Shulman was not done yet. The trial now entered the penalty phase and Shulman had Suffolk’s most overrated attorney Paul Gianelli in his corner. Gianelli who seemed to represent every sex killer in Suffolk always relied on the defense that the victim was “a little whore.” In this case it would be tough since the victims were all escorts. Gianelli argued that Shulman’s life should be spared because he suffered from depression and had a weak grasp of reality. As a result, Shulman was unable to help prepare a defense.

On May 7, 1999, a jury recommended the death penalty for Shulman in record time. Suffolk County Judge Arthur Pitts was all in with that recommendation and on June 3, 1999 sentenced Shulman to death. Shulman openly wept but Gianelli was philosophical: “It’s a sad day when the State sentences a sick man to death.”

Later while on Death Row Shulman pled guilty to two more sex killings in Westchester County where he dumped the bodies of the women he killed on Long Island. Shulman was represented by Gianelli and even more Suffolk fire power in the form of William “Billy the Creep” Keahon.  Keahon was once a prosecutor in Suffolk who helped send four innocent boys to prison in a famous murder case. Keahon and the former District Attorney – now imprisoned – knew the boys were innocent. In fact they framed them. It was the equivalent of a lynching. Keahon would go on to represent scum sucking low lives mostly in Suffolk County. Stay tuned.

Keahon while driving incredibly drunk caused a horrible senseless accident that left a Suffolk County woman crippled. If I did that I would never see the light of day. But Keahon was a favorite of Suffolk Cops, the Suffolk County Republican party and the District Attorney’s Office. Keahon saw no jail and even kept his law license. Suffolk authorities said they were allowing Keahon to keep his license so that he could earn money to pay the poor crippled woman’s bills. I know a man that had his law license taken away for driving with a suspended driver’s license that was suspended because he failed to pay tickets.

Keahon ended up becoming the number one power broker in Suffolk County politics even getting his unqualified wife a position as a judge.

As to the guilty plea Gianelli was once again philosophical: ''For Robert Shulman, it was a family decision.” He avoided the death penalty in Westchester by pleading guilty but that still left the Suffolk County death penalty. Then Shulman avoided the death penalty all together when it was done away with in New York. However Shulman couldn’t catch a break and died in an Albany hospital in 2006 anyway. The cause of death might have been some sort of flesh eating disease that he caught from his lawyers.

Irate Postal Worker Robert Yale Shulman(Seen here in is his “Postal Employee of the Year” Photo)(He was not a nice man)

Well let’s concentrate on just Suffolk County now and get to the really gory stuff:

“White Trash” John Bittrolff, the Manorville (Suffolk) carpenter. Jesus was also a carpenter. That’s where the comparison ends.

The bodies of Rita Tangredi, 31, of East Patchogue (Suffolk) and Colleen McNamee, 20, of Holbrook (Suffolk) were both found murdered in the woods. Tangredi was found November 3, 1993 – not to long after she was last seen – in a wooded area off of Esplanade Drive in East Patchogue. The cause of death was “blunt force trauma” to her head and strangulation. McNamee was discovered January 30, 1994 – once again not too long after she was last seen – in a wooded area east of William Floyd Parkway in North Shirley (Suffolk), and she had been strangled and had a “blunt force trauma” to her head. She was just two years out of Sachem high school. I ran around the track at Sachem this past summer in a vain effort to lose weight.

“Blunt force trauma” does not come close to describing the brutal beating that these two women endured. The poor women’s skulls were crushed exposing their brains. Suffolk County Supreme Court Justice Richard Ambro – who prior to becoming a Judge was a criminal defense attorney –  said the killings were “as brutal as anything I've ever seen in my 32 years in the criminal justice system.” The goal of his sentence was “to ensure that Bittrolff never saw freedom again.”

Both victims were escorts who had drug addiction problems. Both victims were discovered nude, with their legs spread wide apart and their arms behind their backs. They both had wood shavings on their bodies and were purportedly missing their left shoes. I guess experts will opine as to Bittrolff’s fucked up message.

The murders went unsolved for decades until Bittrolff’s brother, Timothy “White Trash Too” Bittrolff, was arrested on an unrelated charge specifically connected to domestic violence. (The Bittrolff family had solid white trash genetics) Timothy was required to give a DNA sample to the state’s DNA database. Timothy’s DNA was a partial match to the DNA left in the victims – “White Trash” Bittrolff’s disgusting vile semen. But it wasn’t Timothy. Ultimately cops got a hold of a cup used by “White Trash” John Bittrolff and were able to match up the DNA perfectly. Dumb luck caught Bittrolff. He was finally arrested for the murders on July 21, 2014. He was convicted in May, 2017 and sentenced to two consecutive 25 years to life sentences in September of 2017. Consecutive means he does one 25 to life and then he has to do the other 25 to life. He isn’t going anywhere soon even though he is confident about his appeal.

While awaiting trial Bittrolff sent a letter from jail to a friend. The letter read, “They can’t prove anything. They’ve got nothing” instead of “hey I’m innocent” like a smart man would have written.

A lot of bodies have been found in Manorville and the surrounding area. A Manorville resident of Italian descent gave a typical comment when confronted by that fact: “Dey come from da City. Dey dump da bodies out here-aah.” Suffolk residents blame the Sodom and Gomorrah liberal city for everything. Except these bodies were home murdered by a white homegrown Manorville resident who did the following not so nice things. This is all according to Bittrolff’s best friend and business partner – referred to as “Nicky Boy” – as well as other Suffolk County residents who knew and loved Bittrolff:

  1. Bittrolff had four pet alligators that he kept in his basement. He delighted in feeding them baby squirrels and baby chicks. He set the alligators free in a popular river that Suffolk County residents love to canoe and kayak in – the Peconic River (Billy the Creep scoffed at this – “says nothing relevant about the man”)(Where is Betty White?);
  2. Bittrolff wrestled his pet pig to the ground and then slit its throat and watched it bleed to death. (Billy the Creep quipped “Your honor how do you think they get bacon.”)
  3. Bittrolff put a clamp on a living duck’s head at South Haven Park and crushed it’s skull – in fact Bittrolff raised ducks that he loved to torture (Billy the Creep said “Peking duck meat your honor”);
  4. Bittrolff shot and killed a swan with a bow and arrow in East Moriches (“it’s just hunting” according to Billy the Creep);
  5. He shot a porcupine dead with a bow and arrow (“so what” said Billy the Creep);
  6. He would catch pigeons and rip their heads off (“means nothing” chimed Billy the Creep, “look at Ozzie Osbourne.”);
  7. He used to hunt deer by running them over in State Parks with his truck (“That has nothing to do with anything” exclaimed Bill the Creep);
  8. Sometimes he would shoot deer with his bow and arrow and then just cut off the deer’s head and leave the body (hey what about donating the venison to a food pantry)
  9. Shot the neighbors pet dogs when they got near his pet deer which deer he loved to torture anyway (“Man has a right to protect his property” said Billy the Creep);
  10. There was a deer hanging in a garage that was cut open – Bittrolff stood under it, reached up and into it and pulled out the heart and then ate it (“Your honor I remain unfazed” said Billy the Creep) Bittrolff would entertain buddies on hunting trips by shooting deer and immediately cutting out their hearts and eating them;
  11. When he saw dead deer on the highway he would take out his chainsaw and cut off their heads (“So what yet again” lectured Billy the Creep);
  12. He got arrested for shooting a deer across the highway from where he was standing – that’s how you shoot motorists by accident.
  13. Bittrolff and Nicky Boy’s favorite past time was double teaming “hookers.” Bittrolff only liked his sex one way – hard and anal – with Nicky Boy watching.

The prosecutor argued that the two victims had Bittrolff’s foul semen in their anuses. As such the fact that Bittrolff liked anal sex with “prostitutes” would help identify him as the killer. The Judge continually asked Billy the Creep if he would concede “identity” – that is that Bittrolff had sex with the victims. Pages of trial transcript were devoted to a discussion of anal sex with Billy the Creep opining that some 70% of Suffolk County men have anal sex; have anal sex with prostitutes; or took it in the ass. It was not clear. The Judge inquired if the “70% anal sex rate” was based on some sort of “statistical analysis.” Billy the Creep responded: “experience your honor … I am 72.” So Billy the Creep has had 72 years of anal sex in some form.

Welcome to Suffolk … land of lubricants.

There is news footage of Bittrolff’s family in the Riverhead Suffolk County Courthouse.   They screamed and hissed at reporters. Especially his wife who probably didn’t like all the stuff about anal sex with prostitutes with his buddy “Nicky Boy.” They came from and live in a predominately white trash area of Suffolk County which means they shared the same views as pretty much everyone else in the County but were lower middle class. Meanwhile his lawyer – the aforementioned William “Billy the Creep” Keahon lamented with righteous indignation that his client was “a generous man.” That meant his retainer check cleared and little else.

Bittrolff now has legal aid lawyers doing his appeals. And the taxpayers had to fork over some three thousand plus dollars to pay Bittrolff’s expert to say that the DNA analysis that showed that the victims were killed within 0 to 20 minutes after having sex with Bittrolff was flawed. DNA is fantastic now: They could tell that the women died within 0-20 minutes after they had sex with Bittrolff through “sperm count density.” This undoubtedly means that Bittrolff heightened his orgasm by smashing the poor women’s skulls to bits just as he blew his proverbial load.  It takes all kinds of people to live on … wait … I think I said that already.

Neighbors – fellow Trump supporters – referred to Bittrolff as a “nice guy that liked to hunt.” I guess he was nice if he wasn’t hunting you or your daughter ... or your dog … or your pigeons … and if you didn’t like canoeing the Peconic or Bambi.

Bittrolff hated deer as much as he hated women and he probably raped a few deer – seriously; not uncommon for serial killers to rape an animal. Perhaps Bittrolff who is not a physically imposing man when compared to other men – as opposed to women – is now getting raped. I don’t know. One can only hope.

But Bittrolff wasn’t the only man that fit the characteristics of a serial killer. The other suspects were too close to home.

During the proceedings “Billy the Creep” was a handed a 180 page stack of papers known as Brady material. This is information in the possession of the prosecution that is exculpatory in nature – in other words information that infers that the Defendant did not commit the crime. In this case it pointed to Suffolk County Cops as suspects. Yes that’s right.

It described evidence destroyed by police in both murder cases that could have hung the heinous murders on cops. Specifically 148 items of evidence in McNamee’s case were thrown away and 18 items of evidence from Tangredi’s case were also destroyed.

Keahon also received information about an investigation of a Suffolk County Police Officer named Teddy Hart. Hart was fired in 2001 for “making violent threats to women.” Let us be a bit more specific about Police Officer Teddy and his six figure salary. While on duty Police Officer Hart would pull women’s information out of the police computer. He would then anonymously call them. During the conversations he would threaten to rape and mutilate them before killing them. That’s what LISK did to the sister of one victim. Officer Hart also frequented escorts like LISK.

In 2000 – 14 years before Bittrolff was arrested for the murders of the two women – Suffolk County Internal Affairs Bureau (“IAB”) detectives investigating the murders searched Officer Hart’s Ford Pick Up truck. The items they recovered were swabbed for DNA. Some of the items were articles of clothing that are part of a Suffolk County Police Department uniform. We are told that nothing connecting him to the murders was found. We are told.

There is also then Sergeant Michael Murphy. These boys did not make it easy for the prosecution. (It took the jury 7 days of deliberation to convict)

With Murphy the story goes something like this. As elicited from a retired Suffolk County detective, Detective McLeer, on cross examination by Keahon: In October 1994 SCPD Sergeant Murphy sexually assaulted prostitutes at the Patchogue Motor Inn on his beat in the Fifth Precinct in Patchogue. Further Murphy “demanded ‘sex for nothing’ seven or eight times next to the Patchogue Motor Inn over a two-year period.” Murphy is also alleged to have impregnated an underage girl. He forced the underage girl to leave the County.   Both Rita Tangredi and Colleen McNamee (the victims) were working in this area – the same motel – when they were murdered. McNamee (two years post-graduation) unfortunately lived in the motel as she attempted to rid herself of addiction. Someone should have watched out for that poor girl.

On November 12, 1998 Detectives from Suffolk County IAB searched Murphy’s “1995 Crown Victoria marked police unit” – his car. They found 8 items including wood shavings or wood chips. We can all recall that wood shavings or chips were also found on the two murdered victims. The items were swabbed for DNA. We are told that nothing connecting Sergeant Murphy to the murders was discovered. We are told.

However everything found in Sergeant Murphy’s car was destroyed by the Suffolk County Police. The police say “inadvertently.” The wood shavings and other evidence found on the women was also destroyed. The Suffolk County police say “inadvertently.” No pictures were even taken of the wood shavings they say. They say.

On January 9, 2017 Murphy was finally swabbed for DNA. That’s a full 19 years after they searched his car. The Suffolk County Police say that his DNA did not match the DNA found in the victims. They say.

They don’t say why Murphy was investigated in the first place. They don’t have to say. Some Judge sealed the IAB file and investigative file on Murphy so no one can see it or talk about it. Judge Ambro would not allow any inquiry into why Murphy was a suspect because his hands were tied by the order of another Judge – according to Judge Ambro. Why would a Judge do that. Don’t the people have the right to know.

Murphy was eventually promoted to lieutenant. Murphy’s father was in charge of Suffolk County Detectives at the time so it’s safe to assume that at least the promotion if not the lack of firing was based upon nepotism. How can detectives investigate the son of their boss some might wonder. Especially when the boss can kick you off the detective squad and take away your overtime. Because for Suffolk Cops its all about one thing – the money.

In 2020 – the Pandemic year – Detective Murphy made a $280,000.00 dollar salary from Suffolk tax payers. What fucking imbeciles they all are.

There is more circumstantial evidence that Murphy is LISK – but there’s plenty of that to go around for cops, politicians, wealthy donors, etc. (See infra – legal talk for “we’ll talk about that later”) But as I said the investigative file was sealed by a Judge. That means it’s off limits to the people that pay that freak. The same people pay the Judge. Everyone is freaky in Suffolk.

People may think – “wait a minute … Bittrolff is not that bad … he’s not even a serial killer.” Well police strongly believe that Bittrolff killed a third woman on Long Island: Twenty-eight-year-old Sandra Costilla, whose body was found in North Sea in November 1993. (North Sea is part of Southampton – not that again). She was found strangled and partially clothed. According to now imprisoned Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota, “the murder of Costilla was very similar to the killings of Tangredi and McNamee. The three victims were small and slight, standing at around five feet tall. They were all strangled to death over a three-month period and then posed in similar ways.” Unlike Bittrolff’s other victims Costilla is not believed to be a prostitute. Suffolk Cops – ever so nice – stated that although she was never arrested for prostitution she lived a “similar life style.” (I guess I had the same life style in my 20s) But cops also conjectured that she had been raped. Anyway that’s at least three and Bittrolff crosses the threshold of official serial killer classification to become “The Butcher of Manorville.”

In 2017 it was announced that Bittrolff was a strong suspect in the LISK killings. First he appears to have started killing just before the advent of LISK. Secondly as it now stands he went on a three month spree in 1993-1994 that ended abruptly. If he’s a serial killer he’d keep killing is a more than fair point – in most cases they kill until they get caught – we think, but we only have information from the ones that get caught; some don’t get caught. Some just stop. Some stop just a few bodies in. But most keep going. It’s what they are. Bittrolff did not get arrested until 2014. What was he doing during those 20 years? He’s also the right age. And two of LISK’s bodies were dumped three miles away from his Manorville home. Look at his classic serial killer characteristics –

Are you convinced? You should be … but …

Not so fast … Did Bittrolff really stop killing. The area from Manorville to Montauk is littered with bodies that have been found – identified (identity withheld) and unidentified – but who killed them and how they got there is a mystery. We don’t know how many have not been found. So Bittrolff could have killed literally dozens – but not be the Gilgo Beach LISK. He could be another LISK. His wife and brother know.

Also there is a tremendous amount of pressure to solve LISK and a tremendous amount of bad publicity surrounding LISK/Gilgo etc. and the Suffolk County Police Department. Some people think the former police chief is the killer – chief among them are cops. Suffolk would love to hang the killings on someone who is already in prison. They have Bittrolff’s phone records. They have the phone records of the victims. The police also have Bittrolff’s DNA and something called “Touch DNA” now that they let the FBI back on the case. They don’t need semen or some other disgusting bodily fluid. They just need nine (9) cells from the surface of the killer’s skin to get a match. So if Bittrolff is LISK why not put him on trial?

So Bittrolff is not LISK … are you convinced … but wait …

Does the Suffolk County Police Department want a LISK trial of Bittrolff? How many suspect cops will they have to disclose to Bittrolff’s defense attorney. How much evidence did they destroy. Maybe the smart thing is to leave Bittrolff alone and hope that LISK just fades away.

I got you now … you are convinced are you not … Bittrolff must be LISK.

But then again Bittrolff is stupid. LISK is not. Just look at how stupid Bittrolff really is: Bittrolff's best friend and former business partner – the above “Nicky Boy” (I won’t give his name because I am going to speak with him) – testified that he ran into Bittrolff at about 6:00 A.M. on the morning following Colleen McNamee’s depraved murder. He saw lots of blood all over the passenger side door of Bittrolff's work truck as well as teeth on the floor mat. Nicky Boy asked what’s that all about. Bittrolff said a prostitute tried to rob him at knife point so he banged her head against the door and kicked her out of the truck. Nicky Boy saw a woman's purse filled with perfume and lipstick etc., on the front passenger seat. Bittrolff began throwing this stuff into the woods. One of the items Nicky Boy clearly saw was Colleen McNamee's driver's license. He remembered the photo well. But at this point Nicky Boy was still helping his buddy out. He advised Bittrolff that he better throw out the purse too.

When Nicky Boy saw Colleen McNamee’s picture on the news after Bittrolff's arrest he came forward. She was memorable. She was so All American High School looking.

Bittrolff’s stupidity was boundless. He frequented escorts that worked out of the same white trash East Patchogue motel as the victims. In the past he even purchased sex from one of the murder victims – Rita Tangredi – who he knew. Both he and his buddy Nicky Boy double teamed these prostitutes.

If these killings happened in New York City the detectives would have cleared the case in six weeks instead of two decades.

Shortly after he was arrested Bittrolff talked to Detectives. They sweated him saying that he was a suspect in the LISK killings without calling them that. They gave him some more information about Sandra Costilla. He said he wanted a lawyer. Sounds smart. It’s on videotape so not much the detectives can do. They can’t beat you on video.

As their leading Bittrolff out of the room he has to blurt out without being questioned, “what brought you to me.” The detectives said, “your brother.” Bittrolff further volunteered, “I fucking knew it.” That all got into evidence at trial. The Fifth Amendment only covers self-incrimination that is involuntary – you say stuff in response to a beating – or at least in response to a question from law enforcement. He should have kept his mouth shut.

Speaking of mouth the detectives were nice enough to give Bittrolff a cup of coffee which he was happy to drink in a DNA case. The detectives got fresh DNA instead of the DNA they got from the Bittrolff family garbage can – God knows what else was in there.

Again LISK is smart. Bittrolff is a moron.

It’s been six (6) years since his conviction and no one is saying that Bittrolff is the killer anymore except the reprobates on Websleuths … I don’t know ... let’s find out.

Long Island had at least three active serial killers all at once back in the Seinfeld 90s: “Rancid” Rifkin; “Crack Head” Shulman and “White Trash” Bittrolff. There may have been more.

Experts in statistical analysis opine that Suffolk currently has two active serial killers.

Long Islanders – Nassau and Suffolk County. Look at Rifkin, Shulman, Bittrolff, LISK and all the rest. Look at George Santos. You’re looking into dark mirrors.

Suffolk Gentlemen: William “Billy The Creep” Keahon and John “White Trash” Bittrolff (Seen here on an episode of “Judge Judy”) (They are not nice men but at least they’re not New York City liberals)

To find LISK you have to walk in his shoes. Go where he went. Go there when he went there – the same time of day or night. See what he saw. Hear what he heard. Touch what he touched. Smell what he smelled. Taste the same air. And then maybe you will know his mind.  And when you know his mind maybe you will find him there. Maybe you will find him at Gilgo reliving the excitement and masturbating … you just have to be there at the same time. He’s not on the Facebook Group – “Catching LISK.”

Come with me …

All my time is nearly gone … I am old now. There is no such thing as “free time.” You pay for it with your life.

It’s okay.

The Long Island Serial Killer is notorious as the man that killed what came to be known as “The Gilgo Four.” That is four pretty young women that worked as “sex workers” according to the cops and media.
